The last line was finished, I had written a book! A major life milestone had been accomplished, well, almost accomplished. I was finally ready to publish but had no idea where to begin.
I started exploring the outdated traditional publishing route and exhausted resources for hybrid-publishing. So. Many. Dead. Ends.
Ultimately, I discovered that with the help of a few friends, I already had everything I needed to publish my first book. So I asked for help from a handful of my creativepreneur friends from across the US, we teamed up, and within a few months, we successfully published State Lines: Poems for the Journey Home.
With this book, Gold & Light Collective was also formed. What started as a small partnership between freelancing creatives to help bring a dream to life, has become the mission we stand by today. Because we’ve found, we’re better when we create together.
Now, we operate as a small team of creatives working together on select projects. We call this our “team-publishing” model of book publishing, and we love what we do, helping transform talented writers into published authors.
